For this week’s WOYN? I asked fellow nail blogger, Scrangie, to share with the group. I’m sure that, like me, your first question is what does Scrangie mean? Is that her real name? Well no it’s not technically her name. It’s a childhood nickname that has stuck with her into adulthood.

Beyond her love of polish, what impresses me most about Scrangie is her impeccable nails. They are perfectly shaped, smooth and healthy looking. And she swatches a LOT of polish people. Her tips are something I only wish mine could be. It takes a lot of work to keep my nails in shape and they are nowhere near as nice as hers. She’s also a huge Rescue Beauty fan and has quite the collection of RBL polishes. Her swatches are one of the factors that prompted my first RBL order.

If it wasn’t for the subject of this week’s What’s On Your Nails?, words like totes, hilar, cra and perf would have never entered my vernacular. In fact, when I bring up her name the boyfriend refers to her as, “the Amber that’s so hilar it’s ridic.” That’s right kids, I’m referring to the one and only Amber Katz of Beauty Blogging Junkie.

Amber cracks me up like no one else. Her quick wit and skill for turning out a magazine ready beauty quote makes her one of my favorite beauty bloggers to see backstage at fashion shows. When we met at a dinner last February I immediately noticed her beyond fabulous blonde mane and we clicked over our shared hair passion. I could talk hair with her for hours.

It’s the way Amber mixes her love of all things 80s, Lost and most importantly beauty into Beauty Blogging Junkie that makes it one of my daily must reads. If you aren’t already hooked, you soon will be. Read on to see what shade she scours ebay to keep in her stash, what top coat she thinks is “THE BEST” and the nail faux pas that we both agree needs to go AWAY!

Well long story short, when I read Beth’s post on Glamour’s Girls in the Beauty Department about Eric Nies (original Real World cast member) using his own urine to wash his hair, every ounce of teen crush that still existed totally died. Yes, he looks like a mountain man with the long hair and beard but underneath you still know it’s Eric Nies, hot piece of man candy. It’s nothing a shave and shower can’t fix. The pee hair thing… total crush deal breaker.

It’s Beth’s unique take on beauty that I so enjoy. She really engages her readers, inviting them to contribute, making it more of a community than just another beauty blog. After connecting with Beth when she interviewed me for the GITBD Blogging Babes series, I hit her up to participate in “What’s On Your Nails?”
