ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Sephora by OPI Let’s Plié
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
While everyone was buzzing about the Sephora by OPI Glee collection, the more low-key Urban Ballerina collection quietly came on the scene. Given the hype surrounding Black Swan, I’m amazed that the collection didn’t get more lip service. As a little girl I was always obsessed with dance and dance movies, watching films like Fame and Flashdance way before I was old enough to see them. I even took ballet lessons for a hot second before admitting that I lacked the natural talent and coordination required. Now even though I’m known for my love of bold nail color, I have moments where I want a more subdued feminine look so I took Sephora by OPI Let’s Plié for a spin on the dance floor. |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Sally Hansen Gray by Gray
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
I’m blaming the rainstorms and overcast, cloudy skies on my apparent grey polish streak. I think this is the 3rd or 4th grey in the Untrieds and we’re only a month in. Hopefully sunny weather and fun brights are in my future because I am OVER this blech, fall-esque weather. When the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line debuted, I raved about the formula and its durability. It is, without question, my favorite drugstore brand. At first I questioned the marketing claims about ten day wear without base or top coat but my skepticism was easily shot down. If you missed my original test, check it out here. Today I’m wearing a shade from the line that I can’t believe I haven’t tried before now, Sally Hansen Gray by Gray. |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Dior Gris Montaigne

TGIF Fanatics! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend. I’m just hoping for some decent weather. I’m itching to grab drinks on a patio somewhere in town. Heck, I’d be happy to just sit on my deck and have a beer with the boyfriend. Do you hear me Mother Nature? Anyway, when I posted my review of Dior Bond Street, ALU reader Serena asked if I could swatch Dior Gris Montaigne for her. Being that the polish was sitting in my untrieds bin I decided to test it a little earlier than I anticipated. You see, I’m trying to alternate between different brands as much as possible but I’m happy to accommodate requests when I can. |
ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Orly Royal Navy
365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
They say it takes 28 days to create a habit, or break one. Today is Day 28 of my untrieds challenge and one of the reasons I started this project was to get over what I’m calling a “blogpression.” It’s not that I didn’t love polish anymore or talking about it. It’s just that after four years I was feeling very mixed about blogging. As much as I love all of you for reading, commenting, emailing, etc I was putting so much pressure on myself. Wanting to fulfill every request and please everyone all the time made me avoid blogging. I wanted to swatch and compare every polish that came out to every other polish that ever existed. It’s simply not possible. So thank you for the endless support and encouragement. I’m happy that you enjoy the 365 of Untrieds as much as I do. It’s made me enjoy blogging more than I have in a long time. Now let’s move on with Orly Royal Navy. |
Sally Hansen Salon Effects & Hellcats Giveaway
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips to be featured on The CW’s Hellcats, Tuesday May 3rd at 9/8c
When it comes to my weekly TV indulgences, The CW has got my number. Yes, my DVR looks like it was programmed like a fifteen year old girl and I don’t care. This season one of my new faves is Hellcats starring Aly Michalka of Aly & AJ, Bandslam, Easy A, etc.
If you aren’t watching Hellcats each week, I don’t know WHAT you’re doing on Tuesdays. Seriously, if you loved Bring It On, and don’t tell me you didn’t, you have no reason not to watch. What really hooked me was the appearance of Gale Harold from Queer As Folk. I will follow him anywhere so Hellcats, PLEASE upgrade him from recurring to series regular!
Being that I am a fan of both Hellcats and Sally Hansen Salon Effects, I’m hosting a fun giveaway. Keep reading to see what you could win.
