China Glaze Anchor’s Away Sneak Peek – Below Deck, Pelican Gray and Sea Spray

Ever since I used China Glaze Sea Spray, from the Spring 2011 Anchor’s Away collection, in my Emmy night manicure I’ve been counting the days til Spring.

Normally Spring nail color collections leave me yawning but I’m not so patiently waiting to get my hands on the bold brights and delicate cremes that make up the nautical inspired collection.  The sailor in me can’t wait to replicate the mani/pedi combo I saw at Cosmoprof using Life Preserver (orange) and First Mate (navy).  It’s a match made in nail heaven.

To help pull me out of my nail polish funk I turned to the few Anchor’s Away colors I have on hand.  So while we wait to see the collection in full I have a little sneaky peek at a few shades; Below Deck, Pelican Gray and Sea Spray.

Current Obsession – Zoya Crystal Nail Polish

By on December 15, 2010
in Blue, Holiday 2010, Winter 2010, Zoya with 70 Comments
I’ve been experiencing a major nail polish depression of late.  I’m having issues finding polishes that truly thrill me to my core.  It’s not that I’m not enjoying polish or anything but I haven’t had too many OH.MY.GOD. moments this fall.

I don’t know what it is but I feel like everything “new” that comes out is something I’ve seen before.  That is until I put Zoya Crystal on my nails.  I didn’t just have an OMG moment.  More like an OMFG IT’S BEAUTIFUL moment.  I’m so smitten with the color I’ve worn it three, THREE, times.  Once for eight days and it still looked fab!  And if that’s not telling of my adoration, I don’t know what is.

Crystal is the star of the Zoya Flame collection for Winter 2010 and if you keep reading, you’ll see why.

Rescue Beauty Lounge’s Bring It Back VOTE

in News, Rescue Beauty Lounge with 36 Comments

A few weeks back I mentioned that Rescue Beauty Lounge founder Ji Baek would be launching a blog on the site. It’s LIVE!  Bookmark blog.rescuebeauty.com or add it to your feed readers.

Even better, the voting to bring back TWO discontinued colors is up and running. You have from now through December 10th to vote for your favorite DC’d polish from the following choices: Atame, Bikini Bottom, Black Russian, Bruised, Concrete Jungle, Diddy Mow, Glamourpuss, Killa Red, Locavore, Mismas, Opaque Nude, Orbis Non Sufficit and Purple Haze.

At the moment Purple Haze is in the lead with Bruised just behind it. The only colors from that list I don’t have are Killa Red and Atame but I can live without either one. Which two colors do  you want to win?

Sephora by OPI Looks Like Rain, Dear & Midnight Mambo

This past weekend the boyfriend and I went to Pittsburgh to visit with friends.  I also went to see Chelsea Handler’s Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang Tour Saturday night.

I am a religious Chelsea Lately watcher and I adore her on the show but her stand up was a REAL disappointment.  As Chelsea would say, “It’s not great!” Her behavior was so manic you would think she was having an episode on stage. Like to the point that I was worried about her.  And her act was so old that I remembered some parts from her 2007 Comedy Central Presents show. Time for some new material Chelsea.

Anywho, I wanted a blingy manicure for the weekend and two of the Sephora by OPI polishes I purchased during the Friends & Family sale called out to me.  A reader suggested that I try Looks Like Rain, Dear but Midnight Mambo looked really pretty as well so I decided to combine them into a multi-colored mani.
