CND Night Factory Duo – Urban Oasis & Teal Sparkle Swatches & Review

cnd-night-factory-look-fall-2010-urban-oasis-teal-sparkle Like your favorite pair of jeans, the CND Night Factory Duo of Urban Oasis and Teal Sparkle can take you from day to night based on how you wear it.  The blue-green denim creme can be worn alone with a high gloss finish for a chic day look, electrified with Teal Sparkle for a night on the town, or sandblasted with a satin finish matte for a casual weekend look.

As I shared with you in previewing “The Look” for Fall/Winter 2010, CND was heavily influenced by the heathery blues, hunter greens and taupe greys as seen on the Marc Jacobs and Rag & Bone Spring 2010 runways.  Those colors came together to form Urban Oasis.  To pair with it, CND chose the largest of their Effects micas to create the illuminating Teal Sparkle.

GingerKittyDesigns In Nails Magazine

gingerkittydesigns-nails-magazine Congratulations to my pal Tracey from GingerKittyDesigns whose Etsy shop was featured in the August issue of Nails Magazine!

Nails did a feature on Etsy stores that sell nail related crafts, perfect for resale in salons or as a gift for the nail tech/fanatic in your life.  If you click on the article (left) you can read the full size version with Tracey’s jewelry pictured on the side.

The other stores that made the list are Sweetheartville, SavDesigns by Vrjinika, The Bohemian Gypsy, Claychicks Boutique and Scentful Indulgence Bath & Body Boutique.

I actually bought a nail themed business card holder from The Bohemian Gypsy and it arrived today.  So cute!

Last year I shared Tracey’s unique line of nail polish jewelry and I’m so happy to see getting the attention it so deserves.  Tracey brilliantly came up with the idea of encapsulating nail polish in a pendant and since then she has expanded into rings and earrings and started incorporating trends like water marbling into her craft.

A fellow nail polish fanatic and collector, Tracey has amassed quite a selection of colors to choose from and can customize any of her designs to your liking. If you haven’t stopped by her shop and picked up a piece for yourself or the Fanatic in your life, it’s time you do so!

As Amazing As Polish – Lancôme Flash Bronzer Face

lancome-flash-bronzer-face-amazing-as-polish It’s time for another installment of As Amazing As Polish, my opportunity to gush about the products that I feel truly are as AH-MAZING as nail polish.

Long time readers, I’m sure you have noticed how sporadic these posts are.  It’s not out of laziness or forgetfulness, it’s just that as beauty junkie who is constantly testing new products it takes a rare flower to get a rave from me. Lancôme Flash Bronzer Oil-Free Tinted Self Tanning Face Lotion (what a mouthful!) definitely deserves that kind of praise.

You may or may not remember that I’m a reformed indoor tanner.  After having a couple suspicious moles removed a few years back I gave up the habit but have been seriously missing the golden brown color ever since.  I can’t help it, I like how I look with a tan.  I think a lot of people that aren’t blessed with flawless, porcelain skin would agree.

Since I gave up the fake & bake I’ve been on the hunt for a self-tanner I can fall in love with and it’s been one massive fail. I’ve tried gradual self-tanners but hated smelling like ass every night to look barely sun-kissed.  I’ve used traditional self-tanners only to end up with streaks or Oompa Loompa feet. Embarrassing!  I’ve tried spray booths, lotions, creams, mists, tanning mitts, etc. and like Goldilocks I never found the right fit until now.

China Glaze Vintage Vixen “Cat’s Meow” Swatches & Review

china glaze Vintage Vixen cat's meow six piece set In spite of the fact that women were called “dames” and “broads” there’s something about the 1940′s that intrigues me.  I wouldn’t want to live in that time but I’m completely fascinated by the style and beauty of that era.  The pin curls, the heavily powdered and made up faces, the structured clothes.  Women put so much work into their look.

Though what the ladies of the 40′s seriously missed out on is nail color.  As we all know, there is more to life than blood red talons. Thankfully when China Glaze looked to the 40s for inspiration, they pulled shades from all aspects of that decade to bring us the colorful Cat’s Meow set from the Vintage Vixen collection.

Nfu Oh Haulage

Happy Saturday Fanatics! I’m busy getting ready for the arrival of one of my best college pals (a fellow nail polish fanatic) so I don’t have a ton of time to post today but I just got my first Nfu Oh haul in and I had to share a quick bottle shot. I seriously can’t believe it took me this long to jump on the bandwagon. The colors are stunning and the bottle seriously deserved its ALU Senior Superlative for Best Dressed. I may be late to the party but late is better than never, right?

I ordered the Nfu Ohs from FabulouStreet.com where they retail for $12.50/ea. Shipping was FREE on my order but I don’t know if there is a certain limit you have to hit for that.  Free shipping applies to US orders only.

Are you dying over the flakies or what??  And those greens?  Kill me now.  I understand that 569 is supposed to be a better quality dupe for the original NARS Zulu.  Comparisons will be made.  In the meantime, where are my Nfu Oh fans?  What are your favorite colors from the line?

PS I know I owe you my review of the China Glaze Vintage Vixen “Cat’s Meow” set but due to inclement (read shitty) weather yesterday I was unable to finish my swatches.  The review will go live tomorrow.  Promise!

Disclosure: I paid for these polishes myself.  For more info view my Disclosure Policy.
