Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Swatches and Review
For over a year now I’ve been hearing nothing but raves for these mythical tubes of lip color goodness called Lip Tars. The cult brand Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics was put on the map thanks to these unique lip products that apply like a gloss, look like a lipstick and wear like a stain.
On a day to day basis I’m not a heavy makeup wearer. I rarely wear foundation, I’m not a skilled shadow blender and the concept of contouring is beyond me so my everyday essentials consist of three products; eyeliner, mascara and a lippie of some form. Lately I’ve been on a major lipstick/stain kick as glosses have become somewhat passé. The thing I love about a gloss though is the ease of application, that’s why Lip Tar is on the road to becoming my new BFF. |

It’s a glorious day in the CLE and the BF and I are gearing up for tonight’s LOST finale. Can you believe it’s finally coming to an end? I swear, if they leave me with even more questions after tonight, I’m not responsible for my actions. You have no idea!!
Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I went to see Iron Man 2 and it’s one of the few sequels that actually lived up to the original. Totally worth seeing. Plus, RDJ is so charming you can’t help but want to spend 2+ hours in a dark theater staring at him.

The Makeup Show NYC Weekend Recap
Last weekend The Makeup Show came to NYC and I was there for a long three-day weekend to take it all in. The Makeup Show was founded by The Powder Group for makeup artists to discover new products and learn new techniques and trends. This is the fifth year for The Makeup Show and next year they’re planning to expand to a European destination. It’s an amazing trade show and I was honored to have been invited to attend.
As always, I pack every trip to NYC with meetings and outings and basically run myself ragged. But I figure I should make the most of it and I certainly did that on this trip. Nubar 2010 10th Anniversary Color Swatches, Review and Comparison
To celebrate 10 years of creating beautiful 3-Free polishes, Nubar has released a special edition color called Nubar 2010. A clear polish filled with iridescent flake glitter, this lacquer will make those of you who have yet to hunt down Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure very very happy.
Not only does Nubar continually put out collection after collection of gorgeous colors, they have some of the best treatment products on the market. Their Foundation Base Coat has achieved “holy grail” status in my book and the Diamont top coat is one of the few quick drys in my arsenal that isn’t thick or tricky to apply. In my opinion, that’s more than enough reason to celebrate their 10th Anniversary in style. And Nubar 2010 has plenty of style. Check it out after the jump! |
Coming Soon – Chanel Paradoxal and A New Blue
Back in March during the Chanel Fall 2010 runway show we learned that Chanel Global Creative Makeup Director Peter Philips was bringing back Jade Rose from the Jade Collection this Fall.
Jade Rose was kind of lost in the craze over Jade last year so it gets a second chance at stardom. Though thanks to my girl Izzy from Musings of a Muse we see that Jade Rose has some stiff competition in the murky purple-tinged Paradoxal. I know I can’t wait to get my hands on it! |
In other Chanel news, the Cruise 2010-2011 collection made its runway debut this week with the models sporting both Jade Rose and an unnamed baby blue nail polish that will be released sometime in the future. If history tells us anything, I’m thinking we may see this as part of a limited edition collection a la the Paris Shanghai and Paris Moscou collections.
