Mannequin Hands with Sinful Colors Satin
Mannequin Hands is a new series featuring ALU Fanatics showing off their “mannequin hands” shade. The one polish that best gives that elongated, flesh-toned look to their hands.
Today Kelsey S. is showing off her “mannequin hands” using Sinful Colors Satin. Kelsey is a Bare Minerals Medium Beige/MAC NC35 and this is what she has to say about the color,
“This was a hand-me-down polish from a friend who had much darker skin and didn’t like the the way it looked on her. I found that it matched my skin tone pretty much perfectly and I love it! Having so many colors, this is always my go-to polish when I can’t make a decision on what color I feel like using. The formula goes on quite smoothly, and I never really have had any problems with Sinful Colors polish. It also has microscopic silver sparkles in it that you can’t really see unless you have a magnifying glass, that add to the luminosity of the polish.”

psst… the gallery is working again
OK I don’t want to say this too loud for fear of angering the WordPress/Server gods but the Gallery is FINALLY operational again. I waited a few days to say something just in case of a glitch but (fingers crossed) everything looks fine now.
You guys, you don’t even know how hellish the past couple months have been for me with this whole site move. I feel like between WordPress issues, server downtime, moving to another server and too many other problems to name, I’ve been spending all my time chatting with tech support, doing research online or crying to the boyfriend (ps I know it wasn’t the end of the world but it sure was stressful). As I’m sure you noticed, all that contributed to a lack of posts especially my holiday gift/trend guide.
BUT I’m happy to say that things are back on track and regular posting will resume. So look forward to new ALU Archives, CND Monday and What’s On Your Nails? posts in addition to a lot more swatches. Here’s to a productive, drama-free 2010!
Zoya Reverie Collection Swatches & Review
If there’s one thing I’m certain of this Spring, there is no true theme for nail color. We’re seeing brights, nudes, holos, greens and with the launch of Zoya Reverie, metallics.
I have to admit, when I first saw the promo images I was intrigued by the duo-chrome look of Adina, but feeling unsure of the rest. After having some time to play with the collection, I’m pleased to say there is more than one gem in this bunch. Check them out after the jump! |
Message In A Bottle – My New Column In Scratch Magazine
Fanatics, I’m so excited to announce that I am Scratch Magazine’s newest columnist. Scratch, the UK nail professional magazine, asked me to launch a new column as an extension of ALU and I was beyond thrilled.

Mannequin Hands with OPI Samoan Sand
Mannequin Hands is a new series featuring ALU Fanatics showing off their “mannequin hands” shade. The one polish that best gives that elongated, flesh-toned look to their hands.
Today’s mannequin hands are courtesy of Shew from TheFreshFiends.com. Shew is a MAC NC30 and perfectly captured the look with OPI Samoan Sand.
To add a twist, she added a layer of Essie Matte About You top coat.
