Sunday Funday – Being My Own Santa by Buying Urban Decay Naked 3
So I know Urban Decay Naked 3 ($52) is on my wish list but I just couldn’t resist when it became available on the UD website last Monday. I pulled the trigger before I could even think about it.
You see, it wasn’t supposed to hit outside retailers until January and with the original release selling out in less than a day, I couldn’t bear not knowing if my family would be on it to pick up this rose gold-colored gem. I’m impatient, I know, but I use Naked 2 on the daily and I’m all about rose gold lately.
Then came the news that Urban Decay pushed up the release so Naked 3 is now available at Beauty.com, Macys.com, Sephora.com and ULTA.com in addition to UrbanDecay.com. Oh the Sephora Beauty Insider points I could have received, ugh!
So if you didn’t jump the gun, like me, you can hop over to your favorite online retailer now and pick up this beauty or wait for it to hit stores on December 12th. Mine arrives tomorrow and I CAN’T WAIT to play with it!
Are you a fan of the UD Naked palettes? Which one is your fave? Do you plan to get Naked 3 or do you already have it? Share your eye color combo ideas in the comments!

The next Pantone Color of the Year for 2014 was announced today and it’s Radiant Orchid. You guys know how I love purple and green so I’m all about it.
“While the 2013 color of the year, PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.”
“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”
You know what this means, right? A follow up to my Emerald Madness nail polish competition, featuring Radiant Orchid. I’ll host a bracketed nail polish smack down of the best orchid nail shades, similar to NCAA March Madness.
So as I start to curate the best representations of Radiant Orchid in the world of nail polish, I’d love to hear your suggestions. I don’t want to accidentally leave out a great shade.
So which nail polishes do you think best represent Pantone Color of the Year 2014, Radiant Orchid? Are you happy with Pantone’s choice?
Sally Hansen Triple Shine Nail Polish – Just How Shiny Is It?
In the race to compete with the gloss and wear of gel polish, it seems that every brand and their mother is coming out with a product or line that includes the word “gel” or “shine.”
Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab, SinfulColors SinfulShine, etc. Even CND is trying to glom onto Shellac’s success with VINYLUX. At the end of the day, no traditional polish or top coat will deliver exactly what gel can. Stop trying to make fetch happen, people!
So who can blame me for being skeptical when Sally Hansen introduced Triple Shine nail polish? Granted, they aren’t making hefty claims of gel polish-like results but, I mean, just how shiny are we talking here? Let’s find out.
